The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lowvinceski tries to land a body kick

so Downem counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lowvinceski looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Downem stands and steps away. Lowvinceski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Downem misses with a hook. Lowvinceski ducked under it nicely.
Downem walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lowvinceski checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Lowvinceski gets caught flat footed, as Downem shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Downem's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Downem decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lowvinceski tries to keep at a distance but Downem has taken the fight into the clinch.

Downem manages to break the clinch.

Downem pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Downem throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lowvinceski tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Downem is in Lowvinceski's guard.
Downem controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lowvinceski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Downem. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lowvinceski is working an open guard so Downem takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Lowvinceski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Downem drives through with a takedown into guard.

Downem slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Downem postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Downem gets to his feet. Lowvinceski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Downem closes the distance looking for a takedown. Lowvinceski stuffs it but Downem still has hold of him. Downem picks Lowvinceski up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Downem slams Lowvinceski to the floor and that's really hurt Lowvinceski - he doesn't know where he is! Downem throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
