Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Quicksis Rio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gwach War (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gwach War has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Quicksis Rio's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Quicksis Rio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Gwach War!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. War sprawls well initially but Rio persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
War wants to get back to his feet.
War really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rio is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rio is looking to take a break and control but War is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rio with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rio seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down War for as long as he can get away with.
Rio working War over with strikes.

War wants to get back to his feet.
Rio winds up and cracks War with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rio keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Rio looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks War with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rio has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rio is working for a kimura but War is defending it quite comfortably.
War is trying to stand.

Rio is looking to advance position but War won't allow it.
Rio wants to lay and pray for a moment but War keeps working.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

War gets caught napping as Rio dives in and scores a takedown. War manages to retain guard.
Rio pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. War is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rio slips nicely into half guard.
War is staying active underneath Rio, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

War tries to kick Rio off but Rio keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rio passes to full mount!
Rio can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as War is looking to escape.
Rio breaks from War's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Rio working the ground and pound effectively.
Rio punishing his opponent with strikes.

A nice elbow there by Rio.
Rio landing strikes from the mount.
War is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Rio controlling the position easily from mount.
You get the feeling that War really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Rio is working for a guillotine from mount but War frees his head quite easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rio wants to control the pace but War is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quicksis Rio dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rio is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
War is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
War is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rio with a nice head shot there.
War wants to stand but Rio is controlling the position.
Rio is pushing down on War's leg trying to pass to half guard. War is fighting to maintain full guard but Rio has managed to sneak the leg through.
War is trying to stand.
Rio works his way into side control.
Rio prevents War from escaping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rio working the head with strikes.

Rio goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, War has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rio but great work by War.
Rio manages to work his way to half guard, despite War's best efforts.
War is breathing heavily.

Rio manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. War keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Rio manages to pull guard.
Rio lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Rio gets to his feet. War looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
War feints and then cracks Rio's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rio down.
Rio dives in for a single leg takedown but War sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Rio. No joy for War on that attempt.

Rio blocks a head kick by War.
War displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rio.
Rio misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice takedown defense from War. No joy for Rio on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quicksis Rio. That's going to take a lot out of him.

War gets caught flat footed, as Rio shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rio wants to pass the guard but War is keeping the position.
Rio prevents War from getting back to his feet.
Rio pushing down on War's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
War is trying to stand.

Rio throwing shots but War is blocking nicely.
Rio is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

War is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Rio locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! War is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Quicksis Rio!
