Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Bronson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kingston Young!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Young is defended easily by Bronson.
Bronson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Young closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bronson circles away.
Bronson misses with a right hand
and Young counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Young holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bronson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Young's brow.

Young pulls guard effortlessly.

Bronson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Young has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bronson has managed to get both his arms back between Young's legs - danger averted.
Bronson throws a big elbow that misses.
Bronson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Young swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bronson stands and throws Young's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bronson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Bronson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bronson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Young is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Young really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bronson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bronson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bronson has control of Young's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Young regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Young is desperately trying to improve his position but Bronson has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bronson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Young because Bronson loaded up on that one.
Bronson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bronson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Young sprawls well initially but Bronson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young tries to roll over but Bronson keeps him under control.
Bronson is trying to control. Young wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Young is defending against the submission attempts here by Bronson.
Young is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bronson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bronson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Young is trying to maintain the position but Bronson is very close to passing his half guard.
Young wants to get back to full guard.
Bronson throwing shots but Young is blocking nicely.

Bronson lands a few punches from side control.
Bronson tries to score with some ground and pound. Young controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Bronson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Young will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bronson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Bronson tries to clinch there but Young circles away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bronson looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Young enables Bronson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Young manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bronson won't allow Young to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Bronson shoots in for a double leg but Young sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Young with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Young keeps the fight on the outside.
Bronson shoots in looking for a takedown. Young tries to sprawl out of it but Bronson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Young manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bronson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bronson has had enough of the clinch but Young keeps him there for the moment.
Bronson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Young avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Bronson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Bronson goes for a takedown attempt but Young pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bronson tries to close the distance and clinch but Young swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Young throws a big counter head kick but Bronson avoids it with no problem.

Bronson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Young can do to turn this around?

Bronson darts in looking for a takedown but Young gets double underhooks and turns Bronson into the cage.

Bronson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Young manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bronson prevents Young from getting back to his feet.
Bronson wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.
Bronson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Young is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Johnny Bronson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bronson is fighting to break Young's control of his arms but Young is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bronson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
