And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Kvasov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kvasov misses with a series of wild punches.
It looked like Evans was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kvasov.
Evans misses with a body shot.
Evans takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Evans tries to score with a low kick but Kvasov moves his leg out of the way.
Evans checks a low kick from Kvasov.
Evans jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Kvasov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Roman Kvasov has been cut.
Kvasov connects with a good right hand that stumbles Evans. Evans circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Kvasov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

I was talking to Evans's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Kvasov wants to stand up but Evans is controlling him.

Evans tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kvasov defends well and Evans ends up having to push Kvasov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kvasov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Evans shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kvasov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kvasov is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.
