Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert May has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert May!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

May gets a takedown into half guard.
May is taking a breather. Wilson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Wilson is looking for a sweep. May is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
May tries to pass to full mount but Wilson defends it.
Wilson wants to control but May is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
May takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

May looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
May working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wilson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
May seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
May must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wilson controls May momentarily but May frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
May throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wilson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
May seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Wilson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because May is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
May is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up but May swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A head kick misses from Wilson.
A big left from May misses.

Wilson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
May is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that May has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wilson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Wilson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
May loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
May pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wilson is keeping the position for now.
May wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.
Wilson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
May is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wilson has managed to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wilson jumps guard and drags May to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert May dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Wilson darts in and clinches May up against the cage.
May wants a takedown but no success here.

May is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wilson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip May to the mat. May regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Robert May has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. May swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

May looking for a guillotine here but Wilson defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as May holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

May looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Wilson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Wilson postures up.
May looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wilson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Wilson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
May wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy.
Wilson content to control rather than advance.
Wilson prevents May from improving his position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wilson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

May wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Wilson wants to take a breather but May is having none of it.
May tries to get to full guard but Wilson has control of the leg.

May is in trouble now - Wilson has advanced to mount!
Wilson wants to control the pace but May is squirming around nicely.

Wilson prevents May from getting the reversal.
May is still trying to improve position.
May bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Wilson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
May wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wilson wants to get back to his feet but May is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wilson is trying to keep May in close.
May slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



May gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

May keeping moving, preventing Wilson from controlling successfully.

May has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Wilson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, May has tightened it up now! Wilson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
