The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates missing with a left hand there. Davis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bates circles away quickly and effectively.
A counter left hand to the body from Bates misses its target.
Bates slips under a jab.
Bates connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Davis clinches with his opponent.

Davis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bates lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Davis throws a lazy right hand but Bates sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Davis throws out a leg kick but Bates moves out of range and Davis only half commits.
Bates cracks Davis with an open hand slap.

Davis throws out a loose jab but Bates uses good head movement to avoid it.
Davis throws a shot from downtown. Bates moves away and avoids it.
Bates gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Davis moves into range and clinches up with Bates.
Bates blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Davis tries to land knees in the clinch but Bates avoids the damage to the body.

Davis lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bates or not.
Davis throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Batess head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Oh Bates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Davis closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Bates! Davis dives in looking to finish! Bates is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
