Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nelson Dacosta!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dacosta tries a head kick but it misses.
Reed could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dacosta scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Reed trying to control but Dacosta postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dacosta is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Reed reverses the position - he's now on top in Dacosta's guard.
Reed has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dacosta is proving hard to escape from.

Reed is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Reed is working for a submission of some sort.
Dacosta is looking to control Reed's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dacosta avoid being mounted?
Dacosta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reed gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Reed fails to land the takedown.

Reed closes the distance and clinches up with Dacosta, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes Dacosta against the cage but Dacosta circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dacosta closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reed quickly recovers to half guard.
Dacosta is looking to stall here but Reed recovers full guard.

Reed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dacosta but Dacosta pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dacosta closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dacosta seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dacosta tries to stand but can't do so whilst Reed controls his leg.
Reed is pressing down on Dacosta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Dacosta is looking to pass into half guard but Reed pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Reed is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reed is trying to maintain the position but Dacosta is very close to passing his half guard.
Reed is not content to let Dacosta control the position.
Nelson Dacosta has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dacosta tries to pass to full mount but Reed defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dacosta throws a head kick that misses
and Reed counters with a one-two to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dacosta moves into the clinch.
Reed wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dacosta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelson Dacosta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Reed's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Reed stands and steps away. Dacosta gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cyril Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dacosta fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
As Dacosta looks to move away, Reed throws a big counter combo bu Dacosta just gets out of the way.
Reed dives in for a single leg takedown but Dacosta sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dacosta pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dacosta takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dacosta rushes Reed and presses him up against the cage.
Reed keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dacosta's efforts to push away.

Dacosta jumps guard and drags Reed to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Dacosta wants to stand up but Reed is controlling him.
Dacosta is looking to sweep but instead, Reed has passed into half guard.

Reed decides to stand and escape the position.

Reed shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Reed is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dacosta has managed to free his arm - good work.

Reed seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Reed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dacosta sees it coming and defends easily.
Reed is figuring out what he wants to do next.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Reed decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Dacosta decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Reed moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cyril Reed.
Well Dacosta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
