PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crabby Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Lundin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Crabby Iron has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Crabby Iron seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Crabby Iron!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cody Lundin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iron takes a swing at Lundin's ribcage but misses.
Lundin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Iron is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Iron connects with a body shot that sends Lundin's belly button to the back.
Iron throws a leg kick but Lundin sees it coming and moves out of range.
Iron misses with a few strikes there.
Lundin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Iron swings for the body but Lundin moves out of range.
Iron throws a big shot that misses.
Lundin looks to land a left hand but Iron moved out of range nicely.
Iron displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lundin.

Iron throws a body punch but Lundin moves out of range.
Iron fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lundin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Iron counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Crabby Iron is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Iron swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lundin moves away from the strike by Iron.
Lundin unleashes a big counter combination but Iron bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Iron ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lundin clinches up with Iron and pushes him back against the cage.

Iron throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lundin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Lundin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Lundin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Iron gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lundin is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Lundin is working Iron over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lundin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Iron looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Iron looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Iron!

Iron content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Well Iron has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
