The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halder finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Thug throws a jab when Halder was well out of range.
A big right from Halder misses.
Halder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Halder has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Halder tries to score with a low kick but Thug moves his leg out of the way.
Thug takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Halder throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Halder sizes up Thug with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Thug shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Halder throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thug.
Halder lands a head kick. Thug smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Thug counters with a straight right hand.
Thug takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Halder punishes Thug's body with a nice straight punch.

Halder throws a push kick but Thug slaps the foot to one side.

Halder misses with a looping left.
Halder keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A slapping body kick lands there for Halder.
Thug takes one to the chin there.
Andy Thug is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Halder does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Halder fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Halder throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Thug moves out of range of the body kick.
Thug throws a quick counter kick to the body but Halder avoids it.

Halder darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Halder is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Thug is pressing down on Halder's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Thug wants to stand up but Halder is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halder throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Thug keeping full guard, as Halder tries to pass.
Thug has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Halder tries to free his leg and advance position but Thug is retaining full guard.
Halder passes Thug's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Halder is nestled in close to Thug, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Thug is rocked!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Halder is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thug sees it coming and defends easily.
Oh Thug is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Halder lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Thug quite badly. Thug pulls Halder in close trying to recover. Halder postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Thug on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Thug doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Blake Halder!
A relieved looking Blake Halder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
