Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Pulunskivic!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulunskivic shoots in for a takedown but Castro shows good takedown defense.
Castro appears to be looking for a big counter.
Pulunskivic goes for a double leg but Castro avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Castro continues to drive forward.
Castro changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Castro takes the fight into the clinch.
Pulunskivic jumps guard but Castro stands there with Pulunskivic around his waist. Pulunskivic gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mitch Castro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Pulunskivic.

Castro decides to pull guard.
Castro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pulunskivic controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pulunskivic drops back looking for a leg! Castro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Castro manages to kick Pulunskivic off! Pulunskivic jumps back into Castro's guard.
Castro wants to stand up but Pulunskivic is controlling him.
Pulunskivic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pulunskivic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pulunskivic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Castro prevents Pulunskivic from moving into mount.
Pulunskivic trying to control the action but Castro is working from the bottom.
Castro is trying to control Pulunskivic's posture but Pulunskivic avoids it.
Pulunskivic lands an elbow.
Castro being controlled for a moment.
Pulunskivic is looking to take a break and control but Castro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pulunskivic tries for a kimura but Castro is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pulunskivic has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Castro!
Pulunskivic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Castro is looking to escape.
Pulunskivic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pulunskivic lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Pulunskivic working for a guillotine from mount but Castro is in no mood to give up.

Pulunskivic feints and as Castro raises his hands in defense, Pulunskivic changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Castro is trying to control the position but Pulunskivic postures up.

Pulunskivic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pulunskivic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Castro sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pulunskivic.
Castro tries to counter by clinching up but Pulunskivic breaks away and moves out of range.

Pulunskivic shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Castro eats them both and turns towards Pulunskivic to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Both fighters circling a little - Pulunskivic finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Pulunskivic shoots in looking for a takedown but Castro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pulunskivic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Castro slaps away a takedown attempt from Pulunskivic, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Vladimir Pulunskivic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pulunskivic jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Castro walks away with a smile on his face. Pulunskivic gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Castro moves in looking to clinch but Pulunskivic pushes him off.

Castro clinches up with Pulunskivic and pushes him back against the cage.
Castro blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Castro with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Pulunskivic drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Castro gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pulunskivic is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Pulunskivic wants to get back to striking at distance but Castro won't allow it.
Castro with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Castro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Castro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pulunskivic as he jumps to the side.

Castro moves into the clinch successfully.
Castro has Pulunskivic pressed against the cage, preventing Pulunskivic from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Castro throws a knee to the head but misses.
Pulunskivic is trying to break free.

Pulunskivic manages to break the clinch.

Pulunskivic scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Pulunskivic wants to control but Castro is keeping him busy.

Castro tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pulunskivic tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Castro is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pulunskivic throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Castro might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Castro is being controlled here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pulunskivic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Castro, who protects the arm well.
Castro is trying to improve his position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mitch Castro.
I think Pulunskivic has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
