Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Poutsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Poutsi!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poutsi misses with a right hand
and Lewis counters with a stiff right hand.
Poutsi scores with a sloppy right hand. Lewis should have avoided that one.
Poutsi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lewis misses with a straight left.
Poutsi misses with a takedown attempt - Lewis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lewis avoids the body shot from Poutsi.
A little feinted left hand from Lewis on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poutsi throws a hook but Lewis avoids it easily.

Horrible takedown attempt by Poutsi or perhaps it was just good defense by Lewis, which made it look bad.

Lewis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Poutsi has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Poutsi in side control, throwing shots but Lewis defends.
Poutsi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Lewis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Poutsi asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Poutsi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Poutsi wants to control but Lewis is keeping him busy.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lewis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Poutsi counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lewis!

Lewis seems a little lost for a moment, as Poutsi dominates the positioning.

My spies in KO Gym inform me that Poutsi has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Poutsi wants the takedown. Lewis is fighting it off but Poutsi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lewis's guard against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Poutsi looking to sit in guard and control but Lewis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Poutsi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lewis is one step ahead there.
Poutsi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lewis wants to get up but he can't break Poutsi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Tim Poutsi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
