The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Almighty lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gold circles away quickly and effectively.
Almighty throws a right and a left that Gold avoids nicely.
Gold dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Almighty throws a head kick that misses
and Gold counters with a straight right hand.
Almighty fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gold manages to avoid it.
Almighty throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gold let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Almighty looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Almighty shoots for a takedown but Gold saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Almighty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gold's coach down at Platinum MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gold's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Almighty is breathing heavily.
Gold fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Almighty walks into a stiff left hand from Gold.
Gold lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gold changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gold lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gold cracks Almighty with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Nice body punch from Gold.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Gold knocks Almighty out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

During a confident post fight interview, Danny Gold thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
