Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Cragen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cragen has chosen Captain Cragen as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Don Cragen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cragen on his heels. He'll look to pass Cragen's guard now, I'm sure.

Wright throws a hook to the side of Cragen's head but Cragen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Cragen is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Wright moves out of range of the leg kick from Cragen.
Wright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wright shoots for a takedown but Cragen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wright chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cragen can pounce on him.
Cragen leaves Wright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

No luck for Wright with that takedown attempt.
Wright moves out of range of the strikes.
Cragen throws a head kick that misses.
Cragen is looking to clinch but Wright is avoiding it.
Wright looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Don Cragen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cragen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cragen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
It looked like Wright was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

and Cragen counters with a crisp one two that drops Wright! Cragen thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Wright to his feet! Wright is in big trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cragen throws a right hand that Wright ducks under and follows up with a left that Wright also avoids with ease.

Cragen tries to close the distance and clinch but Wright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Wright looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cragen!
Cragen is pushing Wright's head away, looking to escape. Wright manages to hold on to the position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wright appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Wright is looking for a kimura but Cragen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wright to get the leverage.

Wright is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Don Cragen seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wright shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Cragen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Cragen manages to break the clinch.
Cragen feints a jab promting Wright to slip. Cragen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wright slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Shawn Wright has been cut.

Cragen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cragen throws a right and a left that Wright avoids nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cragen tries to break free but Wright pushes him back against the cage.
Cragen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Wright is working for takedown but Cragen is calmly controlling the position for now.

Cragen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Cragen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wright checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Cragen is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wright is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cragen to the mat. Cragen regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Cragen can't keep his opponent in guard - Wright advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wright throws a strike but Cragen avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Shawn Wright has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
