PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Zsasz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zsasz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 2Pac: When We Ride ft. Outlawz. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Victor Zsasz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zsasz throws a body punch but Ra moves out of range.
Ra moves in looking to clinch but Zsasz pushes him off.
Zsasz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ra closes the distance but Zsasz moves to the side
and Zsasz counters with a leg kick.
Zsasz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Zsasz throws out a leg kick but Ra moves out of range and Zsasz only half commits.
Ra throws a poor cross that misses
and Zsasz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ra bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zsasz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Nice shot lands for Ra.
Zsasz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ra.

Ra is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Zsasz can't fight it off and eventually Ra manages to take the fight to the floor. Zsasz looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ra throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ra showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Zsasz controls Ra momentarily but Ra frees himself.
Ra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zsasz is keeping the position for now.
Ra lands a couple of elbows.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Zsasz tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Zsasz looks to land a left hand but Ra moved out of range nicely.

Ra scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ra trying to control the action but Zsasz is working from the bottom.
Zsasz prevents Ra from improving position.
Ra creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Ra throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Zsasz works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Ra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Amun Ra will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Zsasz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ra is out of range.

Zsasz cracks Ra with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Ra rushes Zsasz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ra misses with a hook to the ribs.

Zsasz gets underhooks to prevent Ra's takedown attempt.
Ra lands a shoulder strike.
A short uppercut from Ra.
Zsasz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ra controlling the action here for a moment.

Ra continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Zsasz is trying to push Ra away but Ra has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ra on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Zsasz prevents a body shot from Ra.
Ra has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Zsasz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Amun Ra seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Zsasz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Ra has picked Zsasz up - he's going for a ride! Ra dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Ra looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zsasz wants to control but Ra is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ra is nestled in close to Zsasz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ra throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ra wants to take a breather but Zsasz is having none of it.
Ra prevents Zsasz from standing back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zsasz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zsasz throws an overhand right that lands on Ra's shoulder, as Ra tries to avoid the shot.
Ra throws a good cross that connects.
Ra cracks Zsasz with an open hand slap.
Zsasz takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ra looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Ra avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ra misses with a looping right.
Zsasz throwing a counter right hand but Ra manages to avoid it.

Zsasz finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Zsasz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Zsasz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ra finds it's way round the side to connect with Zsasz's head.

Zsasz throws a leg kick which misses Ra's front leg but catches the back leg as Ra tries to avoid it.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ra.

Ra fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ra might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Ra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zsasz pinned against the cage. Zsasz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Victor Zsasz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amun Ra.
Ra lands a really nice looking cross but Zsasz seems unphased.

Amun Ra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ra sizes up Zsasz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Amun Ra is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Ra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Victor Zsasz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amun Ra.

enabling Zsasz to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ra tries to clinch but Zsasz is having none of it.

Ra stuns Zsasz with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ra lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Amun Ra seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Zsasz lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ra has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ra and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Zsasz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ra under the eye.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zsasz, as that shot connected.


Ra is rocked!
Zsasz lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Ra falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
