Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Raony Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JS Mastropiero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JS Mastropiero has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Raony Rios's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mastropiero looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rios is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mastropiero with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rios trying to keep a closed guard but Mastropiero is proving a slippery customer.
Mastropiero trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rios's guard.
Mastropiero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rios is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mastropiero clinches up with Rios and pushes him back against the cage.
Rios blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rios can't break the clinch.
Rios drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rios stops a takedown attempt from Mastropiero.
Mastropiero has had enough of the clinch but Rios keeps him there for the moment.
Rios tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rios wants to break free but Mastropiero has control.

Rios breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rios moves into the clinch.

Mastropiero is trying to trip Rios. He has hold of a leg but Rios is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mastropiero persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Rios looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rios escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mastropiero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rios is breathing heavily.

Mastropiero stands and steps away. Rios gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mastropiero tries to clinch but Rios is having none of it.

Rios looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rios frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Mastropiero tries to reverse the position but Rios maintains control.

Rios goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mastropiero turns into him and now he's in Rios's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mastropiero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rios keeping full guard, as Mastropiero tries to pass.
Rios wants to sweep but no luck.
Rios not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mastropiero controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mastropiero in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

A close round but JS Mastropiero will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rios looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
JS Mastropiero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mastropiero will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Mastropiero counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raony Rios. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rios pulls guard effortlessly.
Rios controls Mastropiero momentarily but Mastropiero frees himself.

Rios manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mastropiero manages to get himself to full guard.
Mastropiero can't keep his opponent in guard - Rios advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rios moves nicely into side control.

Rios stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mastropiero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rios paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rios will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rios wants to control from the top but Mastropiero keeps moving.

Rios stands and throws Mastropiero's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mastropiero stops Rios from passing to mount.

Rios tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rios has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rios throws a right and a left that both miss.

Mastropiero shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mastropiero wants to take a breather but Rios is having none of it.
Mastropiero seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Rios won't allow Mastropiero to pass to mount.
Rios regains full guard. Nicely done.
Rios lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mastropiero!

Mastropiero tries to hold on but Rios pushes him away.

Mastropiero tries to improve his position but Rios has taken his back! Rios has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Mastropiero tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Rios pushes Mastropiero away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
