Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodolfo Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Brown Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carvalho's entrance music is Casa do Sol Nascente. A fine choice. Brown Jr has chosen Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine as his entrance music. Jason Brown Jr acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brown Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carvalho.
Carvalho stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carvalho wants it to stay on the feet.
A big left from Carvalho misses.
Carvalho throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Brown Jr makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Brown Jr slips a straight right by Carvalho.

Carvalho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown Jr moves away.

Sloppy strikes from Carvalho. Those never looked like landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carvalho tries to sprawl but Brown Jr drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Brown Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carvalho's head.
Carvalho looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brown Jr is looking to take a break and control but Carvalho is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brown Jr wants to work for an arm triangle but Carvalho is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Brown Jr looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Carvalho wants to get back to his feet.
Carvalho wants to stand back up but Brown Jr manages to pass into side control.
Carvalho is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Brown Jr has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Carvalho wants to get back to his feet but Brown Jr is dominant here and he's now got Carvalho's back!

Carvalho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Carvalho is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Brown Jr gets his way!
