PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Toby Lamb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and God Zilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamb kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Saltwater. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zilla takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Zilla darts in and clinches Lamb up against the cage.
Zilla creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Lamb throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Zilla blocks it with crossed arms.

Lamb drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lamb jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lamb stands up and beckons Zilla to his feet.
Lamb throws a head kick that Zilla semi-blocks.

Lamb fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zilla.
Zilla uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lamb.
God Zilla is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zilla doesn't manage to clinch there - Lamb circles away.
Lamb throws a head kick but Zilla moves out of range.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Lamb has taken the fight to the clinch.

Lamb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lamb misses with a head kick.
Lamb stuffs the takedown attempt from Zilla. Zilla gets slowly back to his feet.
Lamb swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zilla clinches but Lamb breaks the clinch
and Lamb counters with a right hand to the body.
Zilla takes a kick to the side of the head.

Zilla throws a right hand that Lamb ducks under and follows up with a left that Lamb also avoids with ease.

Lamb shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lamb was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lamb looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Lamb lands a big shot there that rocks Zilla but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The referee warns Zilla that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lamb cracks Zilla with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Zilla is in a horrible position here. Lamb smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lamb cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Lamb has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zilla's face.
A nice elbow there by Lamb.
Zilla gets back to half guard.

Lamb is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zilla doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lamb.
It looks like Lamb is going to stand back up.
Lamb has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zilla tries to roll over but Lamb keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zilla pushes off an throws an elbow but Lamb leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Lamb throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Lamb tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zilla swivels and escapes.
Lamb goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Lamb uses his free foot to push down on Zilla's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zilla.

Toby Lamb overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lamb has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zilla's face.
Zilla is still in real trouble! Can Lamb finish him?

Lamb is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Zilla is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Zilla flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lamb anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Zilla and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lamb slips an arm under Zilla chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lamb has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lamb is squeezing on Zilla like an anaconda would it's prey. Zilla fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
