The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vonny throws a sloppy head kick and Ventura moves out of range easily.
Ventura now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Chad Vonny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vonny doesn't manage to clinch there - Ventura circles away.
Vonny tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ventura paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ventura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ventura connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Chad Vonny has been cut.
Ventura tries to close the distance and clinch but Vonny swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Vonny lands a left and a right that send Ventura crashing to the mat, dazed. Vonny thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Anthony Ventura has been cut.
Vonny tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ventura is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Vonny throws a series of punches but Ventura moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ventura circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vonny's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ventura connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vonny scrambles back to his feet.

Vonny swings wildly with an uppercut but Ventura uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ventura presses Vonny against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ventura creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Ventura lands with a light punch inside.
Ventura lands a right hand that snaps the head of Vonny backwards.

Chad Vonny's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Ventura tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Vonny's elbow.

Ventura throws a punch but it's blocked by Vonny.
Ventura lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vonny backwards.

Vonny tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Ventura counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Vonny is breathing heavily.

Vonny throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Vonny walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Vonny limp body while Ventura jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
