Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Rua!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reid's half guard.
Reid is looking to escape.
Rua is keen to just control but Reid is a slippery customer.

Reid is not content to let Rua control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rua is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reid with a nice cross.
Rua tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reid manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Reid was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rua.

Rua rushes Reid and presses him up against the cage.
Rua jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reid walks away with a smile on his face. Rua gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Reid moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Rua moves into range and clinches up with Reid.
Rua has Reid pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Reid manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A frustrated look appears on Reid's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rua jumps guard but Reid stands there with Rua around his waist. Rua gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Harry Reid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Rua.

Reid has had enough of the clinch but Rua keeps him there for the moment.
Rua has Reid pressed against the cage, preventing Reid from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Reid tries to break free but Rua pushes him back against the cage.

Rua pulls guard effortlessly.
Reid postures up.
Rua tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rua is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rua throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Rua is working an open guard so Reid takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rua bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rua is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rua shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reid sprawls well. Reid wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rua gets slowly back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rua shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Reid counters with a stiff right hand.
Rua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rua fails with an attempt to clinch.
Reid scores with a sloppy right hand. Rua should have avoided that one.
Reid lands a slapping body shot.
Rua throws a low kick but it's checked well by Reid.
Harry Reid is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rua fails to land the takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reid fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A combination from Rua does no damage.
A counter left hand to the body from Reid misses its target.
Reid swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.
Rua takes one to the side of the head.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rua or perhaps it was just good defense by Reid, which made it look bad.

The fighters circle momentarily. Reid darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rua closes the distance and clinches up with Reid, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes Reid against the cage but Reid circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rua shoots in but Reid avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rua connects with a right hand. Reid shakes it off.
Rua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Reid sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Reid was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rua is breathing heavily.
Reid blocks a head kick by Rua.
Rua moves to clinch but Reid breaks away
and Reid counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Reid lands a left and a right that send Rua crashing to the mat, dazed. Reid thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Rua is rocked!

It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
Rua tries to clinch up but Reid circles away and keeps his distance.
Reid swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Reid connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Reid finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reid uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Reid cracks Rua with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Rua falls to his knees and Reid doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
