PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Steel Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axl Dokken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dokken has chosen Cherry Pie "Warrant" as his entrance music. Axl Dokken told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Axl Dokken!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dokken to score with a decent uppercut.
Dokken ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Penn fails to land with a series of punches.
Dokken shapes to counter with a head kick.
Jab, jab by Penn - just one landing.
Dokken connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Penn onto his butt! Penn bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Penn is looking to counter punch.
Dokken closes the distance and catches Penn with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Penn is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Penn is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Penn is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Dokken takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Axl Dokken!
A relieved looking Axl Dokken thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
