And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Blan Ket!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahokas throws a leg kick which misses Ket's front leg but catches the back leg as Ket tries to avoid it.
Ket avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A chopping leg kick lands by Ahokas.
Ahokas motions for Ket to come forward. Ahokas throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ahokas throws a right and a left that Ket avoids nicely.
Ket on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ahokas. Ahokas obviously looking to wear him down.

It looks like Blan Ket has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Ahokas misses the target.

Ahokas is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ket can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ket is squirming around, avoiding Ahokas's attempts to control the action.
Ahokas throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ket wants to control but Ahokas is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ket can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ket might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ahokas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ahokas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ket is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ahokas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ket's back instead.
Ahokas is trying to stick to Ket's back but Ket is turning into Ahokas. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ahokas's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ket.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
