Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Swift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Scott!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swift forces Scott back against the cage and clinches.

Swift gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Scott pulls Swift in close to prevent any damage.
Swift postures up.
Swift trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Swift missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Swift is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Scott has control of Swift's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Swift regains control of the situation pretty easily.

James Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Swift decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Scott's guard.

Scott is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Swift can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
