Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Markson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Lagove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lagove is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: little less conversation -Elvis JXL. Eugene Markson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lagove swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lagove working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Markson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Markson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lagove has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Markson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lagove thows a huge punch but Markson dodges it nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lagove connects with a nice short shot to Markson's temple.
Lagove is looking for a kimura here.
Lagove is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lagove walks into a jab.

and Lagove counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lagove working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Lagove has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lagove postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Markson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lagove, into his guard.
Lagove has his foot on Markson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Markson works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Markson is sitting in close to Lagove's body. Lagove has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Markson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Markson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lagove.
