As Murphy tries to get set, Modigh tries to push him back and clinch up but Murphy manages to avoid the attempt.
Murphy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Murphy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A punch lands to the side of Modigh 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Oh Modigh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Modigh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Modigh seems to have got his legs back now.

It looks like Cedric Murphy has been cut.
Murphy has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Murphy throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Modigh's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Murphy dives in looking to finish as Modigh flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Murphy's strikes! Murphy is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Modigh's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Modigh was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
