Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bennett Holland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laps Lihtne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bennett Holland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Laps Lihtne!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lihtne gets a takedown into half guard.
Holland throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Lihtne trying to mount his opponent but Holland defends it.
Lihtne seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holland does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lihtne is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lihtne is looking to stall here but Holland recovers full guard.

Lihtne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lihtne has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Holland is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lihtne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Lihtne wants to counter with a clinch but Holland pushes him away.

Lihtne shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lihtne was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Holland wants to control but Lihtne postures up.

Lihtne is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Holland's shoulder. That is not cool.

Lihtne looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Lihtne tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Holland stops Lihtne from passing to mount.

Lihtne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holland is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lihtne closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Holland is trying to maintain the position but Lihtne is very close to passing his half guard.
Lihtne is taking a breather. Holland says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lihtne has eaten all the pies!

Lihtne looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Holland gets tackled into the cage by Lihtne. Lihtne maintains the clinch.

Lihtne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holland doesn't manage to clinch there - Lihtne circles away.

Lihtne shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Holland manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Lihtne pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holland is keeping the position for now.

Holland wants to sweep here but Lihtne controlling him for the moment.
Lihtne throws an elbow that misses. Holland uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lihtne's guard. Nice move by Holland!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lihtne seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Holland prevents Lihtne from getting back to his feet.
Lihtne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Holland has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lihtne might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Holland haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bennett Holland is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lihtne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Lihtne is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lihtne is trying to control. Holland wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lihtne throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Holland to regain full guard.
Holland will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Holland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lihtne is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Holland can't keep his opponent in guard - Lihtne advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Laps Lihtne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Holland closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lihtne circles away.
Lihtne tries to counter with a clinch but Holland shakes him off and moves away.

Holland closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Holland lands in his opponent's guard.
Lihtne will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Lihtne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Holland slips a nice elbow through Lihtne's hands, connecting with Lihtne's forehead.
Lihtne manages to get to full guard.
Lihtne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lihtne seems to be looking for submissions.
Lihtne tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Lihtne is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Holland sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Holland has a takedown stuffed.
As Holland backs off Lihtne throws a huge counter combo but Holland manages to avoid it all.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Holland is trying to force a seperation but Lihtne has the dominant position.
Lihtne is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Lihtne is controlling the pace.

Laps Lihtne comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lihtne has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
