The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Luna stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Luna wants to clinch up but Thompson keeps it at a distance.
Thompson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Luna was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Thompson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thompson connects with a nice short shot to Luna's temple.

Thompson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Luna sees it coming and defends easily.

Thompson is trying to work for a kimura but Luna is defending well.
Luna could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Luna tries to kick Thompson off but Thompson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Luna wants to stand back up but Thompson manages to pass into side control.

Thompson is working to tighten his grip on Luna's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Luna has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Thompson is really squeezing tight and eventually Luna passes out! Thompson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
