PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douglass Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Golobradi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Douglass Ellison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Golobradi!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golobradi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ellison manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Golobradi lands with a nice body punch.
Golobradi throws a body punch but Ellison moves out of range.
Ellison could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ellison shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Golobradi pinned against the cage. Golobradi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ellison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Golobradi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ellison on his heels. He'll look to pass Ellison's guard now, I'm sure.

Ellison had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Golobradi defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ellison might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ellison looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ellison is trying to control the action in half guard but Golobradi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Ellison is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Golobradi is just riding it out for now. Ellison eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Golobradi can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ellison feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Douglass Ellison will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Ellison bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ellison is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Golobradi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ellison is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Golobradi presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Jack Golobradi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Despite the aggression on Golobradi's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Golobradi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ellison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ellison drops back, looking for a kneebar! Golobradi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Golobradi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Golobradi!

Ellison wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Golobradi, who protects the arm well.
Ellison misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
