Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatmaitan throws a head kick that misses.
Cook seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Cook pushes Gatmaitan up against the cage in a clinch.
Cook has Gatmaitan pressed against the cage.
Gatmaitan lands a hook that snaps the head of Cook backwards.
Cook looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Cook escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Gatmaitan.
Cook seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A big left from Gatmaitan misses.
Gatmaitan tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gatmaitan throws a head kick but Cook moves out of range.
Cook is looking to counter the offense by Gatmaitan and move into the clinch.
Gatmaitan throws an off balance right hand
and Cook counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gatmaitan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gatmaitan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cook went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Cook closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Cook will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cook is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gatmaitan is looking to improve his position.

Gatmaitan has one foot on Cook's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gatmaitan lands an elbow just above Cook 's eye.

It looks like Cornell Cook has been cut.
Gatmaitan told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Cook dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Cook is stalling here.
Cook is pushing Gatmaitan up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Gatmaitan throws a punch but it's blocked by Cook.
Gatmaitan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Gatmaitan misses with a knee strike.

Cook jumps into guard, dragging Gatmaitan to the mat.
Cook doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Cook is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gatmaitan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cook's body to avoid the submission. Cook has instead reached around Gatmaitan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cook arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
