PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Ferrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Bernard will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bernard drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bernard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ferrell has Bernard pulled in close to control his posture.
Ferrell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ferrell stands and steps away. Bernard gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ferrell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Bernard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bernard enables Ferrell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bernard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Bernard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ferrell stacks Bernard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ferrell!

Bernard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bernard has left one of his arms exposed and Ferrell doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Bernard screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
