Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Babel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Systym Ovadown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Francis DeMontford and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovadown gets a double leg takedown into Babel's guard.
Babel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ovadown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ovadown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ovadown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Babel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Babel has a closed guard, preventing Ovadown from standing up.
Ovadown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Babel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ovadown must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Babel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Babel showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Babel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Ovadown has one of Babel's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Babel will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Babel looks for a takedown but Ovadown sprawls well.
Babel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ovadown avoids it really well and circles away.
Ovadown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ovadown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ovadown is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Babel defends it well.
Ovadown takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Babel moves into full guard.
Babel trying to keep a closed guard but Ovadown is proving a slippery customer.
Babel wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ovadown slaps away a takedown attempt from Babel, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Babel is trying to control the position but Ovadown postures up.

Babel wants to stand and escape but Ovadown is having none of it.

Babel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ovadown manages to get himself to full guard.

Ovadown has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Babel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ovadown's guard.

Babel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ovadown defends it well.
Ovadown tries to roll over but Babel keeps him under control.

Systym Ovadown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Ovadown shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Babel napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ovadown is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Ovadown swings around for an armbar but Babel sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ovadown's guard.
Systym Ovadown has got the better of the ground game so far.
Babel postures up in Ovadown's guard and throws a big left but Ovadown blocks it.

Ovadown might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Babel haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Babel has an Americana. Ovadown didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Babel is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Babel hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
