Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bernard Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wasp!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Patterson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Wasp is pushing Patterson's head away, looking to escape. Patterson manages to hold on to the position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patterson swings around for an armbar but Wasp sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Patterson's guard.

Patterson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wasp is looking to stand up but Patterson won't let him.
Wasp has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Patterson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wasp is on top in guard.

Patterson has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cylon Training Academy. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Wasp wants to get up but he can't break Patterson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Patterson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Patterson has his foot on Wasp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wasp works his way back into a safe position though.

Patterson is looking for a triangle but Wasp pushes his legs off easily.
Patterson has a closed guard, preventing Wasp from standing up.

Patterson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wasp is aware though and is defending well.
Wasp has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Patterson is proving hard to escape from.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Patterson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Patterson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wasp defends it well.

Wasp lands a left and a right that send Patterson crashing to the mat, dazed. Wasp thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Bernard Patterson has been cut.
Wasp wobbles Patterson with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Wasp dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Patterson to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
