The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brooks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Brooks lands a couple of elbows.
Brock looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Brooks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Brooks trying to control the position from guard on top but Brock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brock pulls Brooks in close to his closed guard and prevents Brooks from doing any damage or advancing position.
Brooks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brock wants to stand and escape but Brooks is having none of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brooks connects with a nice short shot to Brock's temple.
