The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vega swats away the attempt to clinch by Richards.
Richards is looking to land body kicks.

Richards misses with a head kick.
De Vega misses with a double jab.
We've been informed that Richards has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
De Vega scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

De Vega fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Richards manages to avoid it.
Richards thows a left - swing and a miss!
And De Vega counters with a quick kick to the body but Richards blocks it.

De Vega went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Richards throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
De Vega takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Richards rushes De Vega and presses him up against the cage.

Keijo Richards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Richards parries the strikes from De Vega easily there. De Vega is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Richards to escape.
