Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Nevsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristian Romero!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero shoots in for a double leg but Nevsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Romero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Nevsky wants to get back to his feet.

Nevsky has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Romero is on him like a limpet, forcing Nevsky back against the cage.
Romero wants to take the fight to the mat but Nevsky manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Nevsky breaks from the clinch.
Romero avoids a kick to the body.
Nevsky misses with a head kick.
A left and a right from Nevsky both land. Nice combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nevsky defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Romero.
Alexander Nevsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cristian Romero.
Romero shoots in looking for a takedown. Nevsky tries to sprawl out of it but Romero keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nevsky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nevsky looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Nevsky is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Romero is controlling him.

Nevsky has his feet on Romero's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nevsky throws a series of punches but Romero moves out of range.
Romero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Romero counters with an inside leg kick.
Romero avoids the body shot from Nevsky.
Romero unleashes a big counter combination but Nevsky bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Romero goes for a double leg but Nevsky avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nevsky continues to drive forward.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses.
Romero connects with a body shot.

Romero throws a right and a left that Nevsky avoids nicely.
Romero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Romero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nevsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Romero postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Nevsky sneaks out the side door and pushes Romero away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Nevsky stuffs the takedown attempt from Romero. Romero gets slowly back to his feet.
Nevsky throws a head kick that misses.
Nevsky misses the shot to the body.

Nevsky tries to kick Romero off but Romero keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Romero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nevsky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nevsky is trying to get back to his feet but Romero has full control of the position and if anything, Nevsky has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Romero is looking to control Nevsky but Nevsky is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Well, with Romero on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Nevsky is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Romero is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Nevsky is tapping out! This one is all over!
