Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Figueiredo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Charles Newman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Charles Newman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Figueiredo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Newman napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Newman is trying to get back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Figueiredo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Figueiredo is looking to pass into half guard but Newman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Newman is in guard.

Figueiredo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Newman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Newman throws a series of punches but Figueiredo moves out of range.

Figueiredo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Newman sprawls well initially but Figueiredo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Newman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Figueiredo is on him like a limpet, forcing Newman back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Newman is on top in guard.
