Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Chaney!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson shoots in looking for a takedown. Chaney tries to sprawl out of it but Ferguson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chaney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chaney looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ferguson!
Chaney throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Chaney tries to advance to mount but can't.
Chaney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferguson keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferguson is looking for a sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chaney tries to clinch but Ferguson is having none of it.

Ferguson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chaney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Chaney sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Ferguson is breathing heavily.

Ferguson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chaney defends it well.
Chaney is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chaney tries to get to full guard but Ferguson has control of the leg.

Chaney manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ferguson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Ferguson pulls guard effortlessly.
Chaney advances position into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Chaney can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ferguson is looking to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chaney throws some wild stikes that Ferguson manages to avoid easily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chaney wants to control but Ferguson postures up.

Ferguson is trying to get an arm triangle but Chaney is defending well.

Ferguson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Chaney has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ferguson but great work by Chaney.

Chaney tries to advance to mount but Ferguson denies him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chaney wants to stand but Ferguson is controlling his arm.
Chaney has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chaney is looking to take a break and control but Ferguson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Chaney throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Chaney wants to control but Ferguson is keeping him busy.
Chaney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chaney is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ferguson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ferguson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Chaney is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Chaney might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ferguson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Chaney goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ferguson is on top in guard.

Chaney feints and as Ferguson raises his hands in defense, Chaney changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James Chaney comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chaney has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
