Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Krejzi Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kure's entrance music is BIG SHUG - who's hard. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Oliver's choice of entrance music: Enter Sandman-Metallica. Ray Oliver has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krejzi Kure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ray Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kure throws a hook to the side of Oliver's head but Oliver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kure goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Oliver misses with a takedown attempt - Kure sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kure throws a series of punches but Oliver moves out of range.
Oliver bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Kure's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Kure is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Oliver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kure is one step ahead there.

Kure throws a big right hand that misses.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Oliver looking for a guillotine here but Kure defends easily.
Kure stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliver swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kure is looking to work some ground and pound but Oliver has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kure thows a left - swing and a miss!
Oliver shoots for a takedown but Kure saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oliver takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Oliver fails with the takedown
and Oliver takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oliver takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kure fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oliver avoids it really well and circles away.

Kure misses the shot to the body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oliver checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Kure throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Oliver stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kure misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kure stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kure wants it to stay on the feet.
Oliver is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Oliver closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kure quickly recovers to half guard.

Kure has his hands clasped together around Oliver's back. He's all about the action.
Kure is looking to control Oliver's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kure avoid being mounted?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Oliver slips nicely into half guard.
Ray Oliver has got the better of the ground game so far.

Oliver is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Oliver is trying to work for a kimura but Kure is defending well.

Oliver is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kure gets full guard.
Kure is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Oliver can do to turn this around?
Oliver tries to free his leg and advance position but Kure is retaining full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kure's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kure duly obliges.
Kure scores with a one two! Oliver had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Oliver dives in and grabs Kure's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kure pushes down on Oliver's head and hops out.

Oliver goes for a double leg but Kure avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kure continues to drive forward.
A quick step to the side and Kure tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oliver is breathing heavily.
Oliver shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kure but Kure pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd cheers as Kure lands an impressive looking overhand right. Oliver doesn't seem phased though.
Kure throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kure tries to bum rush Oliver with a series of wild strikes but Oliver uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Oliver counters with a single leg into guard. Kure didn't expect that.
Oliver is looking to pass into half guard but Kure pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kure is in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kure working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Oliver's head.

Oliver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kure doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kure manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
