Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elbert Walls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coz Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coz Castillo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elbert Walls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coz Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walls closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Castillo did well to prevent Walls getting side control.
Castillo is holding on to half guard well.
Walls looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Walls wants to stand but Castillo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castillo keeps control of the position for the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walls looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Castillo wants to get back to full guard.
Walls stalling away here and it's allowed Castillo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Walls decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Castillo, up you get!

Walls closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Walls decides to stand back up. Walls steps back and let's Castillo get back to his feet.

Walls closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Castillo to the mat! Castillo manages to get full guard.
Walls wants to stand and escape but instead Castillo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Castillo drops back looking for a leg! Walls is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walls manages to kick Castillo off! Castillo jumps back into Walls's guard.
Walls avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Castillo has gone for a leg lock! Walls slips out almost immediately though and dives into Castillo's guard.

Castillo seems keen to control Walls's posture.

Walls postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Castillo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Walls, into his guard.

Walls preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Castillo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Walls is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Castillo is aware though and is defending well.
Castillo postures up in Walls's guard and throws a big left but Walls blocks it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Castillo throws a strike but Walls rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Walls wants to get up but he can't break Castillo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Walls is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Castillo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Castillo has escaped and now he's on top!

Walls could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Walls wants to stand but Castillo has his arm trapped.

Walls is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Castillo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Walls is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Castillo can do to turn this around?

Walls tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Walls has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Castillo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walls knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Castillo swings around for an armbar but Walls sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Castillo's guard.

Walls has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Castillo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Walls dives on top into guard.

Elbert Walls overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Walls trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Walls loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Walls wants to stand but Castillo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Walls throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Walls lands with a nice combination. Castillo backs away looking to recover.
Coz Castillo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walls just misses with a punch to the body.
And Castillo tries to counter it with a takedown but Walls pushes his down on his head and steps out.

And that's the end of the fight!
Elbert Walls showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Walls has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
