Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cotton Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill lands a high kick!
An inside leg kick from Mir misses.
Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hill swivels and escapes.

Mir gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hill misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hill escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hill throws a series of punches but Mir avoids them all with ease.
Hill throws a sloppy head kick and Mir moves out of range easily.
Mir takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Mir has a takedown stuffed.
Cotton Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Mir.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Mir checks a leg kick.
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hill is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Hill circles away and we're back to standing.
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Hill shows good takedown defense.

Hill misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
Hill drops Mir with a left and a right! Oh, Mir is hurt - Hill dives into side control looking to finish!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mir tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cotton Hill dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hill as he avoids it easily.
Mir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Mir shoots in and drives through. Hill sprawls well.
Tony Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hill throws a leg kick

and Mir counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mir.
Hill goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hill manages to break the clinch.
Hill feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mir's calf.
Hill swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Mir counters with a single leg into guard. Hill didn't expect that.

Hill punching from the bottom - just letting Mir know he's still in a fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hill manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Mir is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Cotton Hill will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hill digs a good hook to Mir's body.
A jab from Hill does it's job there.
Mir moves out of range of the body kick.
Hill throws a nice outside leg kick.

Mir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hill won't allow Mir to pass to mount.

Hill moves into full guard.
Hill wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mir looking to pass the guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mir controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mir drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hill manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mir has Hill in his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mir gets full guard.
Tony Mir has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cotton Hill showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
