Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Irenicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canadian Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irenicus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shadows of Amn. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Canadian Hero!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irenicus throws a jab when Hero was well out of range.
Irenicus throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hero looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Irenicus swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Hero counters with a low kick, right behind Irenicus 's knee.
Irenicus looks to land a combination but Hero avoids it well.
Irenicus lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hero's sensitive parts.
Hero wants to clinch.
Irenicus misses with a low kick.
Hero throws a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Irenicus connects with a high kick.
It looks like Canadian Hero has been cut.
Irenicus swats away the attempt to clinch by Hero.
Irenicus throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hero sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hero misses with a wild combination.

Hero is looking to clinch.
Hero has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Irenicus finds it's way round the side to connect with Hero's head.
Irenicus throws a sloppy head kick and Hero moves out of range easily.
And Hero responds with a good body kick, but Irenicus manages to step out the way in time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hero slips a jab from Irenicus.
Hero steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
A looping hook to the body misses from Irenicus. Hero does a little dance to reset his feet.
Irenicus throws a leg kick that is checked
and Hero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Irenicus looks to land a right hand but Hero moved out of range.
Hero tries to clinch but Irenicus moves out of range.
Hero checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Irenicus throws a sloppy head kick and Hero moves out of range easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hero! But no joy.
Irenicus misses with the combination.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hero or perhaps it was just good defense by Irenicus, which made it look bad.
Irenicus throws a looping overhand right but Hero ducks down to avoid it.
Irenicus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Irenicus misses with a low kick.
Hero tries to counter with a clinch but Irenicus shakes him off and moves away.
Irenicus tries a head kick but it misses.
Hero misses with a low kick.
Irenicus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hero.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hero tries to clinch there but Irenicus circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jon Irenicus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Canadian Hero.
Hero shoots in and drives through. Irenicus sprawls well.
Jon Irenicus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Irenicus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hero! But no joy.
Irenicus stuffs the takedown attempt from Hero. Hero gets slowly back to his feet.
Jon Irenicus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hero slips under a jab.
Irenicus cracks the inside of Hero's front leg.
Hero takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Irenicus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hero appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Hero wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Irenicus getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Irenicus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hero moves into the clinch.
Irenicus throws a punch but it's blocked by Hero.
Irenicus lands with a light punch inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hero goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hero swings wildly with an uppercut but Irenicus uses good head movement to avoid it.
Irenicus is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Hero taking a breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Irenicus dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Canadian Hero's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Irenicus darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hero is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Irenicus engages and cracks Hero with a massive lead left hook - Hero tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Irenicus is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jon Irenicus!
A relieved looking Jon Irenicus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
