And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dieter Rushnakov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Welles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rushnakov stops Welles from passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Welles works to advance to full mount. Rushnakov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Welles jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rushnakov manages to avoid the submission attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rushnakov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rushnakov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Welles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
