Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Touko Pouko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Montalban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Touko Pouko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Montalban!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouko shoots in but no luck this time.
Montalban has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Pouko is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pouko has his takedown stuffed
and Montalban counters with a straight right hand.
Montalban displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pouko.
Montalban looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Touko Pouko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pouko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montalban tries to avoid it but Pouko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montalban to the ground. Montalban escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Montalban swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Montalban fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pouko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Touko Pouko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pouko looks for a takedown but Montalban sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pouko fails to land the takedown.
A nice side step and Montalban releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Pouko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Montalban defends it nicely.
Montalban raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Pouko misses with a takedown attempt - Montalban sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pouko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montalban tries to avoid it but Pouko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montalban to the ground. Montalban escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Montalban is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Pouko with a body shot.

and Montalban counters with a low kick, right behind Pouko 's knee.
Pouko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Pouko is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Montalban's half guard.
Pouko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montalban keeps working.
Montalban is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pouko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Montalban has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pouko is working away from the top position though.
Pouko tries to pass to full mount but Montalban defends it.

Pouko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Montalban is trying to get back to full guard.
Pouko is pressing down on Montalban's thigh, looking to free his foot. Montalban is holding on for now.
Montalban really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pouko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pouko wants to work for an arm triangle but Montalban is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pouko is keen to just control but Montalban is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Montalban lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Montalban tries to sprawl but Pouko drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Pouko seems to be looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montalban can do anything to dispel that myth.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close round but Jesus Montalban will probably get the nod.

and Montalban counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pouko's knee momentarily.

and Montalban counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Montalban defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pouko.
Montalban looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Montalban has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pouko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Montalban counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pouko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Montalban counters with a nice uppercut.

Pouko fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Montalban to the ground. Pouko is now in Montalban's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pouko pulls Montalban in close to prevent any damage.
Montalban must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Montalban wanted to stand there but Pouko had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montalban controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pouko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Montalban manages to get himself to full guard.

Pouko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pouko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Montalban is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pouko is controlling him.

Pouko content to control rather than advance.

Pouko seems to be looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Montalban connects with a body shot that sends Pouko's belly button to the back.
Montalban cracks Pouko with a good jab.
Montalban throws a shot to the body.
Montalban stuffs the takedown.
Montalban is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Pouko with a body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Montalban connects with a single shot there.

and Montalban counters with a huge left! Pouko is in big trouble! He's backing up but Montalban isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Pouko from any more damage. A dominating finish by Montalban!
