Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mietek Wegorz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Greene might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tiger Rap by-Andre Nickotina. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mietek Wegorz!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene lands a really nice looking cross but Wegorz seems unphased.
Greene lunges at Wegorz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wegorz's hand.
Greene looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wegorz has a takedown stuffed.
A little feinted left hand from Greene on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Greene throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wegorz misses with a body shot.
Greene is looking for a counter combo.
Greene goes for a double leg but Wegorz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wegorz continues to drive forward.
Greene scores with a punch to the head.
Greene seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Greene closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Greene seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wegorz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wegorz wants to control but Greene is keeping busy.
Greene is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Greene decides to return to a standing position.
Wegorz getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Greene closes the distance and clinches up with Wegorz, looking for a takedown. Greene pushes Wegorz against the cage but Wegorz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wegorz throws a jab but it's blocked by Greene.

Wegorz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wegorz looks to land a right hand but Greene moved out of range.
Wegorz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Greene sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wegorz somewhat.

Wegorz stuffs the takedown attempt from Greene. Greene gets slowly back to his feet.

and Greene takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Frank Greene seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wegorz throws a right hand that Greene ducks under and follows up with a left that Greene also avoids with ease.
Wegorz falls off balance throwing a combination
and Greene cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Wegorz throws a right and a left that both miss.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wegorz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mietek Wegorz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Greene defending well as Wegorz loads up on a big left hand.
Greene looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wegorz is fending him off so far but Greene persists. Nope, Wegorz circles away and we're back to standing.
Greene scores with a nice head shot.
Wegorz throws out a powerful jab.

Greene shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Greene was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wegorz throws a nice looking combination but Greene bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wegorz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Greene connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wegorz's hands.

Wegorz gets caught flat footed, as Greene shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Greene is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wegorz can do to turn this around?
Greene's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Greene decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Wegorz, up you get!
Greene fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
We've been informed that Wegorz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Wegorz drops his hands momentarily and Greene takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Greene stands and steps away. Wegorz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

It looks like Frank Greene has been cut.
Greene cracks Wegorz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Wegorz throws out a counter right but Greene avoids it with no problem.
No luck for Greene with that takedown attempt.
As Greene backs off Wegorz throws a huge counter combo but Greene manages to avoid it all.

Wegorz unleashes a big counter combination but Greene bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Greene trying to control from Wegorz's half guard. Wegorz has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Greene looking to sit in guard and control but Wegorz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greene prevents Wegorz from standing back up.

Wegorz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A quick step to the side and Greene tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Greene shoots in looking for a takedown but Wegorz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Greene's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Greene shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wegorz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wegorz holds on and takes a little breather.
Greene might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
