Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Julian Eduardo Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Branton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Eduardo Demaestri looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branton moves out of range of the body kick.

Demaestri looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

We've been hearing good reports from Demaestri's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Branton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Branton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Branton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Demaestri knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
