Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Churchill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shark Attack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Churchill !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shark Attack!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Attack tries to clinch but Churchill is having none of it.

Attack darts in and clinches Churchill up against the cage.
Attack lands a shoulder strike.
Churchill tries to pull guard but Attack holds him up against the cage and eventually Churchill drops back down to his feet.
Attack with a knee to the head.


It looks like Hugo Churchill has been cut.
Attack gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Attack jumps guard.
Attack wants to stand and escape but Churchill is having none of it.
Attack is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Churchill postures up in Attack's guard and throws a big left but Attack blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Churchill sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Churchill 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Churchill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Attack wants to stand but Churchill is controlling the position.
Churchill trying to control the position from guard on top but Attack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Churchill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Churchill drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Churchill is standing up over Attack. Attack looks to escape but Churchill dives into side control.

Attack is trying to buck Churchill off.

Churchill tries for a kimura but Attack is defending well.
Attack is pushing Churchill 's head away, looking to escape. Churchill manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Churchill working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Churchill tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Churchill has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Churchill tries to move to mount but Attack blocks the move with his legs.

Attack is trying to get back to his feet.
Churchill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Attack keeps working.
Attack is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice takedown defense from Churchill . No joy for Attack on that attempt.
Attack tries to clinch up

and Churchill counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Churchill .

Churchill looking to sit in guard and control but Attack gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Attack is fighting to break Churchill 's control of his arms but Churchill is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Attack throws a big right hand that misses.
Attack with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Churchill has control of Attack's left arm, preventing Attack from doing any damage.
Churchill utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Attack working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Attack drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Churchill dives on top into guard.

Attack wants to stand but Churchill is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Churchill dives in and scores a takedown into Attack's guard.

Attack wants to stand up but Churchill is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Churchill throws a strike but Attack rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Attack drops back, looking for a kneebar! Churchill looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Churchill looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Churchill !


Churchill is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Attack is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Churchill fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Churchill prevents Attack from escaping the position.
Attack tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Churchill is looking for a choke. Attack gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Attack manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Hugo Churchill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Attack is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Churchill is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Churchill has escaped and now he's on top!

Churchill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Attack can do to turn this around?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Attack can't keep his opponent in guard - Churchill advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Churchill is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Churchill wants to pass to mount but Attack is defending the position.
Still in half guard, Churchill seems content to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Attack closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Attack with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Churchill 's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Churchill wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Churchill blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Churchill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Attack stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Attack scores with a shoulder strike.

Attack pulls guard effortlessly.
Attack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Churchill wants to pass the guard but Attack is keeping the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Attack looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Churchill drops down looking for a counter takedown but Attack sprawls and moves away.
Churchill circles away from the clinch attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Attack lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Attack throws an elbow but it misses.
Attack lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Attack connects with a knee to the head.
Attack lands with a right to the head.
Still in the clinch, Attack scores with a nice short uppercut.
Attack scores with a shot to the side of Churchill 's head.


Churchill is rocked!
Attack lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Oh Churchill is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Churchill tries to break the clinch but Attack is controlling the position.
Attack misses with some punches.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Attack.
Attack lands a big knee to the head and Churchill goes down! Attack pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shark Attack!
Shark Attack bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
