The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kessler throws a front kick aimed at Williamson's knee but Williamson avoids it well.
Williamson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kessler wants to land a leg kick but Williamson is out of range.
Kessler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Williamson is trying to defend but Kessler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williamson wants to get back to full guard.
Williamson is controlling Kessler's position as best he can from this difficult position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williamson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kessler wants to pass the guard but Williamson is defending well.

Williamson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kessler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kessler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kessler has his hands clasped together but Williamson extends and breaks Kessler's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Williamson.
