PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dakota Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Utah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dakota Brooks has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dakota Brooks seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks scores with a punch to the head.

Utah gets a clinch.
Brooks lands a body punch.

Utah manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Brooks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Utah looking for a guillotine here but Brooks defends easily.
Brooks controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brooks trying to control the position from guard on top but Utah is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Utah wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Utah is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brooks is controlling him.

Utah keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully.
Brooks wants to stand but Utah is controlling his posture from full guard.
Utah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brooks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Utah is keeping the position for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Utah pulls Brooks in close to his closed guard and prevents Brooks from doing any damage or advancing position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Brooks.
Utah avoids the body shot from Brooks.
Brooks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Utah instigates a clinch.
Utah has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Brooks avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Utah has had enough of the clinch but Brooks keeps him there for the moment.

Utah is trying to break the clinch but Brooks is controlling him.

Utah has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Brooks clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Utah controlling well, preventing Brooks from escaping the position.
Utah just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Utah is cranking Brooks's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Brooks! He's tightened the choke and Brooks is tapping out!
