Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dylan Finley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Irish!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Finley seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Finley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Irish pinned against the cage. Irish gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Irish moves into the clinch.
Finley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Irish fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Finley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Irish defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan Finley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Irish tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Finley paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Irish tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Finley quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Irish breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Irish tries to close the distance and clinch but Finley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Finley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Irish's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Irish shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Finley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Finley is striking from the bottom but Irish uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Irish stalling away here and it's allowed Finley to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Finley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Finley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Finley is working an open guard so Irish takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Dean Irish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Irish clinches with his opponent.
Finley wants a takedown but no success here.
Irish lands with a short head shot on the inside.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Finley blocks an elbow strike.

Finley lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Finley stops Irish from getting back to his feet.

Irish looks to move to half guard but instead Finley has passed into mount! Damn!

Finley with a couple of short strikes.
Irish tries to reverse the position but Finley maintains control.
Irish really wants to buck Finley off and get back to his feet.

Finley is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Irish is surviving well by controlling Finley's body position as best he can.
Irish holds on, trying desperately to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Finley avoids the attempt from Irish to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Finley swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Irish is now in Finley's guard. A big mistake from Finley there, giving up the dominant position!
Finley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Irish dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Finley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Irish sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Irish closes the distance and pushes Finley back into the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Irish.
Irish tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Finley's elbow.
Finley lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Irish utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Dean Irish seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Irish pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Irish shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Finley napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Finley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Irish decides to stand back up. Irish steps back and let's Finley get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Irish closes the distance and clinches.
Irish gets through Finley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Irish lands with a short punch from the clinch.


Finley is rocked!
Irish lands a big knee to the head and Finley goes down! Irish pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Irish!
