Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Johnny Bronson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howe has managed to clinch.
Bronson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Howe manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Howe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Howe really is a fat lump.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Howe is on top in guard.


Bronson is looking for a triangle but Howe pushes his legs off easily.
Howe wants to control from the top but Bronson keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bronson is pulling down on Howe's head. It's preventing any offense from Howe, at least for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Howe trying to control but Bronson is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bronson gets a double leg takedown into Howe's guard.
Howe tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Howe trying to strike off his back.
Bronson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bronson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Howe doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Bronson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Howe wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bronson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Howe's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bronson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bronson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Howe sprawls well initially but Bronson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bronson rushes Howe and presses him up against the cage.
Howe is trying to pull guard but Bronson has him pressed against the cage.

Bronson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Howe regains guard immediately.
Howe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Howe lands a couple of elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bronson is breathing heavily.
Bronson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Howe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Howe wants to stand but Bronson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bronson moves into the clinch.

Howe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bronson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Howe was covering up waiting for the punch and Bronson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Bronson wants to get up but he can't break Howe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Johnny Bronson has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bronson is pushing down on Howe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Howe is fighting to maintain full guard but Bronson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bronson is pressing down on Howe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Howe is holding on for now.
Bronson is keen to just control but Howe is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Howe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Howe has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Bronson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Bronson is looking to control Howe but Howe is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Jon Howe showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Bronson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
