Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ilia Livov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ouyang Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ouyang Kang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ilia Livov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ouyang Kang!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kang blocks a head kick by Livov.
A telegraphed right hand from Kang misses the target.
Livov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kang jumps into guard, dragging Livov to the mat.
Livov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Livov's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Livov is trying to control the position but Kang postures up.

Livov wants to sweep but no luck.
Livov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kang on the ground.

Kang is working for a kimura but Livov is defending it quite comfortably.

No joy there for Kang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kang moves away from the strike by Livov.

Livov tries to close the distance and clinch but Kang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Livov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kang swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Livov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Livov.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kang breaks the clinch.
Livov moves in looking to clinch but Kang pushes him off.
Livov throws a head kick but Kang moves out of range.
Livov slips a straight right by Kang.
Livov appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Livov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kang misses with a right hand

so Livov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Livov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ouyang Kang will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Livov moves in looking to clinch but Kang pushes him off.
And Kang tries to counter it with a takedown but Livov pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kang misses with a wild body shot.
Livov fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kang is looking for the big counter here.
Livov tries to land a leg kick but Kang saw it coming and moves away.
Livov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kang.

and Livov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Livov takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Kang is trying to break the clinch but Livov is controlling him.
Livov misses with a hook to the ribs.

Livov is trying to trip Kang. He has hold of a leg but Kang is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Livov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Livov wants to pass the guard but Kang is keeping the position.
Livov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kang moves into full guard.
Livov wants to pass the guard but Kang is keeping the position.
Kang keeping moving, preventing Livov from controlling successfully.
Kang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kang is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Livov!

Kang avoids the attempt from Livov to control.
Kang looking to control but Livov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Livov is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Livov wants to control but Kang is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Livov is trying to escape the mount.
Kang connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Livov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kang scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Livov?


It looks like Ilia Livov has been cut.

Livov is rocked!
Kang breaks from Livov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ouyang Kang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Livov throws a front kick aimed at Kang's knee but Kang avoids it well.
Kang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Livov misses with a few strikes there.
Livov swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Kang counters with a shoot takedown. Livov fights it but they end up in guard.
Kang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kang wants to control from the top but Livov keeps moving.

Kang is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Livov has his hands clasped together but Kang extends and breaks Livov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kang.
